Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma: Manipur burning because of Congress’ wrong policies

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on August 08 blamed the Congress party for the ongoing violence in Manipur. Addressing a Press Conference, Assam CM said that the wrong policies adopted by the Congress party resulted in various disputes in the Northeastern states. “I want to clearly state that because of the wrong policies adopted by the Congress Party during the formative years, today Northeastern state is not able to resolve various disputes that exist in our region from the time we’ve attained freedom,” said Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. “They have created a situation, they have put the provision in the Constitution either which is creating various problems among the community or they have not done something which should have been done in the very beginning to resolve the conflict,” he added.

If Manipur was peaceful during Congress rule then why Army had to be give Special Power (AFSPA) in 1958 showing reason that violence had become the way of life .. and Administration had failed .." For more than 60 years Army was given Special Power in Manipur. BJP was not in power in Centre and State. So, only ignorant people blame a particular political party for present violence.
