Quick tip, take 2 pieces of 1” pvc pipe about 5’ long. Cut the rope on your sled in half and run them through the pvc pipe and attach caribeaners to the ends of the rope. You can hook the caribeaners onto your pack and the pvc prevents the sled from sliding and hitting you while walking downhill

Not going to lie this is the first set up I’ve seen that is like mine 🫡 gotta be versatile here in muskoka canada 🇨🇦 +35c too -35c is no joke. I change from a hot summer too a cold winter set up as the weather changes. It’s a big kit.

What I really like about this system is that it contemplates carrying a firearm. Most channels are too afraid of the YouTube censors to do that, and it makes the load plan completely unrealistic. Who would wander into the SHTF landscape without a firearm?

You should look at reusable travel vac bags. No machine needed so you can repack your clothes like that when in the trail and not suddenly have more than your bag can pack

Love the Caffenated Jellybeans! What about an inflatable snow tube with a bottom? Might be able to ride it down hill, and it doubles as a chair back at camp.

Actually, you shouldn't keep a sleeping bag packed up unless yer carrying it. Pull it out of the bag and hang it. It'll keep it's loft for a lot longer. Keeping it compressed kills the loft which means it won't keep you as warm.

Instead of paranoid you should look at the Survivorcord from Titan Survival. It has a 620 pound rating and includes fish line, snare wire, and jute fire starting strand. 100 feet is only $28.00.

Where did you purchase your organizational bags inside your pack? The organizer bag that you used for the fishing gear.

Hey my Idaho brother!! Your Kit makes mine look sick. I know that you're in the CDA area, and I'm in the Idaho Falls area. Have you thought about including your clothing you wear during your bugout in the Winter??? The other consideration that I thought you were missing was hydration while bugging out. I have camel packs in my bags, and of course water filtration too. I was also considering using a JetBoil system too because if you can burn saturated wood.

Snugpak zippers suck. If you can get them (not sure the extreme temperatures you have) the Carinthia sleeping bags are pretty good.

Does U-Haul know you have those moving blankets? 😂 Nice kit, definitely got me thinking.

The Fac Track is probably one of the worst ways to go. I had one in multicam and one in their “military green”.

Completely empty it weights 7lbs. It wouldn’t fit my complete shelter/sleep system (I’m in NW Montana, I utilize a light weight tarp, hammock, underquilt, and zero degree sleeping bag) plus a change of clothes, extra socks, minimalist cook system, and food. When packed with everything minus my sleeping bag (that wouldn’t fit), it was about 35lbs.

I traded it in and ordered an Alps Mountaineering Nomad. The Nomad is between 65L and 80L (roll top) and 4lbs empty. When ounces = pounds and pounds equal pain, the difference when the Nomad has my complete sleep system, plus change of clothes, plus dry socks, plus cook system, and some food is still noticeably lighter than than my Fac was on my back. My AR and lever action fit on the side better than they do with the fac if that’s how I want it.

Eberlestock Fac Track
Weight - 7.2 lbs
Size: 24"h x 10"w x 7"d

Alps Mountaineering Nomad
Weight: 4lbs
Size: 26”h x 14”w x 7”d

So with the Alps, I got two extra inches in height (at minimum I assume), four extra inches in width, and both are 7 inches deep, and the Alps is still lighter empty. And if I need it to be camouflaged, I can get a multicam rain cover that weighs about nothing. And the Alps is about $100-$200 less than the Eberlestock.
