Great addition to the homestead. And you have the abilities to take care of all the concerns and it will be a well used tool. Keep up the great work.

Several well placed huge boulders would do nice to hold that dirt back and help to build a nice terrace, eh. Nice idea. I like it. Thanks for Sharing

Even if you put a metal plate in the truck bed the dirt will stick. Paint the metal with ‘Slick Plate’ and that will help but will need to be re-applied after a time. Warning, you cannot stand in the bed afterward. Or not long anyway. 😊

SWEET PURCHASE! The truck is very fixable. It just has a few little things to repair/replace/ and or mend. Lots of possibilities with this truck. Amazing what a little bit of dirt will do! PROGRESS

As a suggest; if you have any leftover metal roofing you could attach that to the bed of the truck and hopefully it would solve the problem you are having with the dirt sticking to the bed. Enjoy your channel and look forward to more content...

Hey Mike, check on the engine of the excavator and see if you can locate any valves on the heater hoses. It's possible one or both of them are shut off preventing hot water from reaching your heater core.

Alot of beet growers get an 8' wide plastic liner for their truck beds to protect them. It's about a 1/4 inch thick.

Bed sealer, WD-40, Cooking spray, for the bed. Check your rear springs for possible broken leaf.

Nice job and as anything else that old truck is a process. We ran 2 80s model at our fire department as brush trucks and they are bullet proof if maintained. One thing to know when you start working on the bed, grain beds dont reach the same angle as a dump bed. it may be as simple as shortening the bed, i saw the bed hit on flat ground in the video. Good luck, ill be excited to see the progress on the old girl.

Is there clearance to pull the new truck inside to work on it? Are you going to use something like snow stakes to identify the steep edges? Creating a homestead is a process, I am enjoying your journey. Stay positive the two of you.
