Pecan pie from a couple of days ago, but I really wanted to try this close-up filming technique so here it is again 🙈

Recipe:
▫️1c white sugar
▫️1/2c brown sugar
▫️1/4c light/dark corn syrup (see note below)
▫️1/4c butter
▫️1tbsp water
▫️2tbsp cornstarch
▫️3 eggs
▫️1/4tsp salt
▫️1tbsp vanilla
▫️1tbsp cinnamon
▫️1c chopped pecans
▫️pre-made pie crusts (I used minis here)
▫️frosting and caramel drizzle to top

Directions:
Combine sugars, corn syrup, and butter in a saucepan over medium heat. In a small bowl, mix the water and cornstarch together then add to the heating saucepan mixture (this is what will thicken the filling). Stir and bring to a full boil then remove from heat and set aside to cool.

In a large bowl, beat the eggs till frothy then add in the cooled mixture, vanilla, salt, and cinnamon. Finally fold in the chopped nuts, pour into your crust, and bake in a 375°F oven until the filling thickens (20-25 minutes for mini pies, 45-50 for a large 9in).

Remove from oven, add your desired toppings, and enjoy 😋

Note: dark corn syrup will add a richer almost caramelized flavor to the pie and have the filling appear darker in color. Light corn syrup will work as well but the flavor won’t be as rich. That being said, I did use light corn syrup here (hence the lighter color) and it still tasted amazing!
