How to Create Smooth Lines in Photoshop - Brush Smoothing

Learn how to use the brush stabilizer to create smooth lines in your digital art. I'll be demonstrating this feature in Photoshop, but it is available in many other art apps as well. This feature allows you to draw smooth lines, curves and shapes. It works great for drawing with a tablet and makes drawing with a mouse much easier.

I've been an artist for 15 years and I have essential tremors (constant shaking hands) and this is a godsend for my digital work. I still practice on physical medium so my muscle memory gets finer tuned, but things like very light strokes were near impossible for me an very embarrassing in art school.

For those who can't see the pink line while using brush smoothing.
Preferences > Cursors > Show brush leash while smoothing

you need to mention the "smoothing" tick box needs to be checked in the brush settings for this to work. thanks, great vid!

For some reason I can't edit the smoothing. There's no number in the box next to smoothing, and when I click on it, nothing shows up, so I can't change it. Any help?

I have been using photoshop for a while now but never knew about this feature! Paint Tool SAI > Photoshop

Photoshop > Everything Else

The catchup to end works fine with tablet, if you turn of pressure it will do same as with mouse. Quite handy actually. Really a nice feature this Smoothing, i wished the following mouse had a cursor as well. Now you sort of need to watch 2 things at once
