Watching this as a native English speaker is quite eye-opening because we just do this naturally, quite amazing that we never notice it

I watched her video when I was having a big problem to pronounce 'walk' and 'work'. And now I totally got it! She is the best youtube's teacher I even seen. I like her, especially her actions! Thanks

Thanks, this "unscientific" explanation has actually just helped me to fix a couple of bugs in my pronounciation that had always bothered me. Especially walk/work. I did know that they had to sound differently and I would always understand which is which when listening; but I was never sure which sound I had to use as the template (my native language has a somewhat different set of sounds, it's frequently the case even in the same language family). Now I'm sure the problem is solved. Probably a better way would be to learn how to read proper transcription but again you have to bind each sound so something that you are used to use.

For everybody who wants to improve their pronunciation I recommend to study the phonetics because in theory it teaches place and manner of articulation of vowels and consonants and their sounds. It's the best way to understand English

Thank you! You make it easier for non english speakers to get the right pronunciation. Many times it is the hardest part for us.

I have a problem with these words.

Eyes-ice
live-leave
meet-meat
kiss-keys
¿could you make a video explaining some of these words? Because I think these words really are so similar and English learners can be confused. Thank you.

I like your lessons. Your explanation simplifies the understanding for non native speakers. Some previous comments (esp with transcription) are more academic. But walking this way I didn't understand speakers from San Francisco or Los Angeles. No one transcription gives me understanding the phrase "Watchaganadoo".Keep up your way. It realy works.

I love this lesson you are way better than all the English teacher I had growing up. Thanks!

I think it would be more helpful for ESL people to learn phonemes rather than focus on a few words here and there. All the "common mistakes" relate to misunderstanding phonemes.

Don't worry about the negative comments! It is far easier to criticize, attack or destroy an act of creation because it is a lot more difficult to perform one. Thanks to people like you, who by their altruist actions, create guidelines for people like me .[Non-English speaker] to understand a different language. Thanks! your help is highly appreciated.

Never ever use the microphone of the camera. Especially in a video where sound is important ( pronunciation of words ). Always use external microphone, overhead or lavalier.

For "twenty", I think most North Americans would say "twenny".
But lots of good advice here otherwise!

Sorry, Ronnie, but this lesson is to a large extent wrong. The "th" in "Thursday is voiceless, while in "farther" and "further" is voiced. The "t"s don't change into "d"s; they become so called flaps. Don't mislead people.
