I am German and have dealt with the World War I and II topic. I would not join the Navy because most submarines never come back. With the Air Force it would be safer at the beginning of the war than at the end and with the tanks we actually had quite good ones, so I would say tanks.

The tanks were the best when in active battle but getting to the battle and repositioning after is a different story
