Whenever I'm down and out and feel like the 52 year old I am, I just crank this album and recall all the good times back in the day and keep rocking on!

A timeless classic. In my opinion one of the greatest songs ever written on one of the best albums ever produced.

I was 13 years old when I first listened to this album and I have loved PF ever since. I would put my headphones on listen to the entire album and forget about my troubles. I’ll be 59 in a few days and this song album takes me back to a simpler time. Thanks Pink Floyd 😊

I'm an old dog who heard Money over the phone for my first hearing Pink Floyd, I was 14. I fell in love. I know every word to every album. Animals is the best Floyd album ever. Take it to the bank.

You got to be crazy, gotta have a real need
Gotta sleep on your toes, and when you're on the street
You got to be able to pick out the easy meat with your eyes closed
And then moving in silently, down wind and out of sight
You got to strike when the moment is right without thinking.

And after a while, you can work on points for style
Like the club tie, and the firm handshake
A certain look in the eye, and an easy smile

You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to
So that when they turn their backs on you
You'll get the chance to put the knife in.

You gotta keep one eye looking over your shoulder
You know it's going to get harder, and harder, and harder as you get older
Yeah, and in the end you'll pack up, fly down south
Hide your head in the sand
Just another sad old man
All alone and dying of cancer.

And when you lose control, you'll reap the harvest you have sown
And as the fear grows, the bad blood slows and turns to stone
And it's too late to lose the weight you used to need to throw around
So have a good drown, as you go down, all alone
Dragged down by the stone.

I gotta admit that I'm a little bit confused
Sometimes it seems to me as if I'm just being used
Gotta stay awake, gotta try and shake off this creeping malaise
If I don't stand my own ground, how can I find my way out of this maze?
Deaf, dumb, and blind, you just keep on pretending
That everyone's expendable and no-one has a real friend
And it seems to you the thing to do would be to isolate the winner
And everything's done under the sun
And you believe at heart, everyone's a killer.

Who was born in a house full of pain
Who was trained not to spit in the fan
Who was told what to do by the man
Who was broken by trained personnel
Who was fitted with collar and chain
Who was given a pat on the back
Who was breaking away from the pack
Who was only a stranger at home
Who was ground down in the end
Who was found dead on the phone
Who was dragged down by the stone.

Pink Floyd were always brilliant, yet for me this song is their masterpiece. It’s just them. It’s vulnerable, it’s visceral, and so original. The cool thing about the 70s is that everyone had the same gear but their own individual music. What a beautiful era....

Rick Wright is the most Under appreciated musician in the 2nd half of the 20th century. I swear the keyboards from mid 10 min to 11:30 or Dogs is maybe the best thing ever played by any keyboardist ever. His work on this album and Live at Pompeii is otherworldly. RIP.

I was lucky enough to catch this concert in 77. It cost $9.50 to get in. That will not buy you a beer at a concert today

First time I listened to this, I was stoned as hell. I love so many of their songs but this has to be my favorite.

Animals is such a brilliant track. Not many people take the time to really let go and listen. Not to mention the story behind the lyrics. Chilling. I'm about 10 years behind my time, but have always felt a special connection with Pink Floyd and have taken trips all around the world, without leaving my house.

By far one of the most underrated albums in existance and Floyd's best work!

Questo brano ha una tale bellezza che mi stupisce ancora a distanza di tanti anni come lo stesso giorno in cui lo ascoltai per la prima volta da ragazzino. Pazzesco!

I was in high school  1971-1975 and Pink Floyd was some of the best camping music in the desert here in Southern California at around 3:00 am.  Everyone staring into the campfire,  quiet as hell.  Off into their own thoughts.   If you get my meaning...:)
