Join us as we uncover one of the most incredible recent archaeological finds - the ancient bathhouse where the legendary Alexander the Great bathed as a youth with his closest companions and rumored lover Hephaestion.
In the ancient city of Aigai, the ceremonial center of the powerful Macedonian kingdom, archaeologists have meticulously excavated the palaestra (ancient Greek wrestling school) and adjoining communal bathrooms used by Alexander and his inner circle. This visceral discovery offers an unparalleled glimpse into the formative, homosocial bonds that shaped the young conqueror's character and ambitions.
Explore the vast 15,000 square meter Aigai palace complex - three times larger than the Parthenon - that bore witness to pivotal events like the assassination of King Philip II and Alexander's coronation at age 20. Marvel at the incredible restored mosaics, marble floors, and precious artifacts uncovered after a 16-year, €20 million excavation project.
We'll take you on a journey through Aigai's ancient ruins, including the recently uncovered tomb of Alexander's sister Thessaloniki, as we unpack the rites of passage, customs, and relationships that defined this civilization and its golden age. You'll never look at the ancient world the same way again after this eye-opening exploration!

Finally! We waited centuries for this and our patience has been rewarded.

It seems likely that 'bathroom' here means exactly that, a room with a bath. The toilet would have been situated elsewhere.

I'm sure they found a bath house but I think they are guessing when they're saying it's Alexander's. But what do I know

after the romans conquered the area why didn't the local population move back or take advantage of the palace ruins..fix it up or scavenge and build a new settlement there? ti seems very convenient for the distant future to leave it shortly after alexander was gone
ohh when they say "bathroom" they mean literally a room for baths...not a toilet room? 😀

No doubt the Romans themselves were first to fail searching feverishly after Alexander's shithouse. So this centuries-old mystery is FINALLY resolved! (Great vid, though - once you stop chuckling about the click-baity title.)
