Welcome to the creative cove, thank you for visiting with me today. Lately I have been obsessed with being in the garden and trying to preserve the beauty that summer has to offer before we are buried in snow again. Pressing flowers for my journals is one of the ways I keep the summer bounty with me all year. Today’s tutorial is how I seal my flowers using a varnish. I hope this inspires you to give it a try.

That unknown flower is Purple loosestrife. It's pretty but it is highly invasive here in Vermont. Queen Anne's lace is a wild carrot and you can eat the root if you want to. It smells just like a carrot when you pull them up. Thanks for another great video. I love learning new things about art.

First time viewer. I have to say this was probably the most enjoyable pressed flower video that I've watched. The varnish technique looks interesting. I'm definitely going to watch more of your videos. Thank you!

I love your theme! The dried flowers and how you placed them in plastic with labels was absolutely original! I'm loving your techniques and spots of this and that. One doesn't tire of that or get bored. Just love this one! Thank you for sharing.

what you said at 21:00 mark in the video...you are one of my absolutely favorite journalists to have fun with and get inspired by. I tend to love all the things you love..the pressed flowers, grunge, vintage, botanical, sketches, all that stuff. I have several favorite you tube artists as my "go to" for learning, inspiration, and just having fun, you are definitely the #1 of my all time favorite. Thank you for sharing your creativity. I admire your style!!!

Beautiful flowers to dry, some of which I have not dried. My friend Ann has decorated a candle for me 🙏, with her own garden's flowers. She did a lovely job, sealing the flowers with a bit of melted wax. Wrapped up in cellophane & tied with a purple bow (my fav colour) it was a perfect gift for me. I cherish it! TFS🙏🥰🦘🦘🦘🌿

I was looking for ways to decorate our wedding menus and everything. Thank you for all these tips and tricks.
When we have children, I am definitely going to use these tricks to make nice flower books with them to study trees, flowers and seasons.

Some great ideas. Thank you for sharing. I am definitely going to do a similar journal. Thought I would do one for my son with family photos with embellishment and names so he will know who they are and the things they liked and did when they were young. He has never met some of them. A family history of sorts.

I cannot tell you how much I am enjoying your videos. I do eco dye and got a smaller hot press for Christmas that I haven’t tried yet but have fall leaves and 💐 flowers frozen. Hopefully it works. I got the freezing video from another person on utube and can’t think of her name right now, but she does a lot of eco dying. I am gonna have to watch your video on the drying process because I absolutely love this whole video and I’m obsessed with picking up leaves, flowers, pods, acorns, pine ones, sticks. That’s my favorite junk from nature. I do mixed media and cards and scrapbooks but you and a few others have inspired me to try a junk journal, ty
