How TF does a crested get MBD? Most everyone feeds a commercial mix with adequate minerals and they’re nocturnal geckos (I know it’s controversial about UV in nocturnal species ) and I’ve raised and bred the whole spectrum from tokay to house to cresties, leopards, all sizes of day geckos, lechies etc, since I was 7 and never had anything close to the deformity shown.
Did someone just feed it Fruit by the foot, orange soda and molasses?That poor guys quality of life must be crap.

MBD is more usually caused by lack of proper UVB not malnutrition tho malnutrition can contribute.

Also his snout is SUPER small for his size, most likely due to a small enclosure causing stunted growth.

My stepfather had a nile monitor that had a back that was hunched like that and I believe it was from lack of proper UV lights. He was only using a standard household lightbulb for heat

Well I say otherwise, today I saw him at Gator Country and he’s not looking to hot. He’s severely overweight and his spines is very curved and the back 3 quarters of his tail are not put to use. He saw a vet about 5 days ago and they said he’s only been fed fried chicken and french fries for his entire life. He should’ve been taken away earlier and the guy should’ve been arrested sinner for animal cruelty. His bones are so weak due to the fact that he hasn’t seen any sunlight which cause his Metabolic Bone Disease. But now he’s in a place where he’s safe and can be taken care of properly. #justiceforalbertthegator

Okay I can tell you this and it's a big secret. Albert was a wonderful gator. And there was a golf course pond that they would sneak him into and he would eat deer And raccoons, but it was at night unfortunately so he didn't get any sun. And that's how the legend of the 'Gator in Hamburg' started in the 90s ❤❤❤❤ but if you wanted to see Albert in the pond you would have to go there at night because he really was an urban legend until now . But we all feel really bad 😢😢😢😢💚💚💚💚💚❤❤❤ 💚
