You mean Smyrna? To anybody that reads this, i recommend you reading about what happened in 1922. Not only did they seize the land from Greece... they slaughtered any and every Greek inhabitant that didn't leave and then proceeded to burn the place down. What hurts the most is that they new age of turks looks back at that time and feels pride and with every chance they get they like to imply that the Greeks learned how to swim that day.
