Bus Life: How much does it cost to live in a skoolie full time?

This video will show the breakdown of the cost to live in a skoolie / converted school bus full-time, both parked in a permanent location and on the road.

If you're considering doing the conversion yourself or buying a bus that has already been converted into a tiny house on wheels, this video can hopefully help you get an idea about the cost of living that comes with bus life. The cost of living in a bus is very different from person to person. I am quite fortunate that our permanent location is incredibly affordable and we got a really good deal on our insurance as well.

Thanks so much for posting your bus math. I have been hoping someone would give this breakdown on cost. I haven’t yet bought a bus to convert, just doing my homework to gather the facts first. If you know of a reliable mechanic near Illinois who can look over a bus engine and evaluate its merits, please share their name and location. We are in the Springfield, IL area. That’s not accurate at at all. You can’t include expenses that we have wether we live in a schoolie or a house. Ex. cell phone is a bill either way. Just schoolie expenses only and obviously it would only be a guide, depending on bus length, engine, location, how many people, etc. etc....
