Back in the day when Aston Martin used to hand build cars I used to drive past their selection of buildings everyday as I went through Newport Pagnell. It wasn't a car, it was a personalised vehicle, made just for you and had the names of the people who made it in it. Coachwork at it's finest.

Serif fonts look luxurious and elegant because we are used to this type of fonts on supposedly luxurious and elegant brands.
With that in mind I can’t help but think that design is about rules, and breaking them. The new BOSS branding is a good example imo.

I think you should do a video on how to find out who the audience of the design is. I know thats more marketing related but its still as youve always said one of the top things to consider when designing. Do you ask your clients for that info or do you research it yourself?

However, there are many sports brands that use other fonts in their regular variable, not italics, and yet those signs are compatible and work as good identifiers.
The choice of the typeface that "best goes" with the brand has to do with its strategic profile but also with what is most convenient to better identify itself in the brand context. Otherwise, all sports brands that want to show themselves as strong and "with movement", would use Futura Condensed Extra Black.
Typefaces can EVOKE certain cultural aspects associated with them. But its use in logotypes goes beyond that.

I'm not buying it. These companies simply created somewhat mediocre logos and instilled in our minds how we should perceive them, with gobs of marketing over time!!! The Nike logo, Apple logo, FedEx logo, Etc. were not created one day, and the next day everyone was worshipping them.
