As someone who learned cursive in school but still have the messiest handwriting, I appreciate this video.

I don't know why many schools stopped teaching cursive. It is my all-time favorite way of writing. It looks more matured and elegant.
Thanks, Jetpens for this amazing video.

Cursive was the standard when I was in school, but as I was interested in calligraphy at that time, I changed my handwriting to round hand (another form of script.)
Then I had a stroke, and my handwriting went back to maybe like it was when I was 6-8... A lot of patience, I have my round hand back. 😁
Great video!

As a 60 year old I can’t imagine taking class notes in print. (That would take me so long!). We were taught cursive in 3rd grade. After that all assignments were required to be in cursive and in pencil. No pens until high school! Now I am working on making my print letters look neater!

I think it would be very nice to have half the discipline our parents had back in the day (60's mostly) for calligraphy and proper, fluid writing. My father has gorgeous and quick handwriting, and his signature is really easy yet very personal. I wish they made us practice with ink more in school. Great video!

I learned cursive in grade school, but college note taking ruined my hand writing. One of the tips on good cursive writing was "write slowly, " impossible in a classroom where information is being dumped rapid fire. I enjoyed this video and am going to go back and practice my cursive!

That is so weird. In Brazil we learn to write in cursive from the start. Teachers don't like if you write in any other style, at least during primary school.

This goes against so many cursive "rules" I learned in second grade 😂

Don't tell my second grade teacher that there is "no set style that you have to follow." That was the only subject I ever got less than an A in before high school. Still I'm so glad I know it because I tell my kids I'm going to break out of the old folks home by passing notes in cursive and driving a manual transmission. LOL

I was a penmanship champion in 5&6th grades. One reason why I love stationary so much. I love JetPens products.

I would encourage folks to let go a bit - after they learn the basics. I love handwriting that is unique and even a bit messy! It can be very beautiful and free flowing, and reflective of your personality. So when I receive a letter or card from someone it feels like a very personal gift . No one else could have written it.

My cursive re-learning project has jumped ahead significantly due to your video. I enjoyed it all. I especially appreciated the hints you gave us of a very personal set of rules and shapes that are invoked for special cases. I am referring specifically to your style of varying the leading letter in a lower-case word. This efficiency is wonderful by itself, but it also gives me direction for developing my own style. You leave me thirsting for more. Thank you so much.

Practice by copying lyrics of your favorite songs or sentimental ones. I'm particularly fond of A Thousand Years. Feels nice to write, and looks nice on journal's dump pages/page breaks too. Also, if you're still learning/new at cursive, it's true that writing at the "just right" font size is best, but once you're comfortable, functional everyday cursive is allowed to be written at any size. I write at small fonts and they're still readable. Well, unless the pen size I use is bigger than 0.5. It's impossible to write small with big pen sizes. Cursive looks nice when written with a relaxed hand.

I was 5-6 years old when my father taught me cursive. It took me nearly a year to learn it. When I got admitted in Primary School, I used write in cursive. But the teachers complained that they could understand a lot of it so I had to fix my handwriting. As my wrist muscles were used to write in cursive, It was very hard to write in general handwriting and eventually I totally forgot cursive. But now I am here, learning cursive again😊
