Gigabyte is back with a new OLED Super Ultrawide monitor and with its more accessible price tag, this seems like it could be a solid choice for those who want complete immersion. Plouffe is here to check it out and see if he has monitor purchase regret (again!)

Purchases made through some store links may provide some compensation to Linus Media Group.

problem with super ultrawide monitors is that loading progress bars become longer so the games take longer to load

This channel and we as viewers really need to stop enabling Plouffe's addiction

Haven’t watched the full video yet but expect Plouffe to mention that he owns an Alienware monitor at some point in the video.

I think people were complaining about the foam scratching the display just on the alienware monitors, since they initially didn't have the protective peel at all and the foam was scratching up the screen directly.

4:30 I've been using G9 for almost 3 years and I'm not placing two 16:9 windows next to each other, no sir: the BEST layout for 32:9 is one 16:9 window dead center, and two 8:9 windows on the each side of it. You really can't go back from that.

SUGGESTION:
when such a monitor offer two inputs to display simultaneously, please test that feature thoroughly:
- what happens if one signal is hdr and the other isn't
- if both signals havve different refhresh rates or different resolutions
say both signals are HDR 144, is the display seemlessly displaying the two inputs, or does the dual input infere on latency, qualit of the display, etc etc..

this monitor can do two 16/9 bezel-free inputs which will be the appeal for a lot of potential buyers

"this is ltt, we're not even gonna test that"

at east fort once you were blatently honest: LTT doesn't do indepth testing, LTT just challenges what the manufacturers puts on their boxes/specsheets. (which is a good place to start)

I'd actually want a strange but triple monitor pbp mode. Like 16:9 in the middle and 2 8:9 on each side. So you can game in the middle

Me writing my program in 1 single line across the screen :)

I think I would want one big zone in the middle and 2 smaller on the sides for this setup.

The robot on that box just screams "We have Ultrakill at home."

9:23 Nah, that is very noticable. I notice stuff like that all the time. If it looks a tiny bit bright, I will notice. I play a lot of horror games, so HDR accuracy is pretty important to me.

I definitely have micro scratching on my AW3423DW. The only reason I didn’t return it was because I didn’t think I would get any better luck with another try.

It looked like smudges from handling, but when I tried to wipe the screen down with a micro fiber cloth, they were still there. I very lightly dragged my finger nail across the screen and verified that they were indeed scratches.

In the long term, I only notice them when I’m cleaning my monitor, but it still sucks to spend that kind of money on a product for it to arrive damaged because of poor packaging.

Glad to see OLED monitor manufacturers have started taking this kind of stuff into account

I am a little triggered by the monitor height- it looks like if you are sitting up straight, your eyes will be at the top of the monitor, rather than about 1/3 of the way down. - as someone who has been through a lot of pain and discomfort from long term bad ergonomics, you may want to consider raising the monitor up some, and also sitting straighter.

Hi! Love the video. Could you guys cover the text clarity for these OLEDs? I think that is a weak spot for these "1440" OLEDS and the widescreens would commonly be used for productivity.

I love my 49" ultrawide for web development. I use display fusion to split the display and have 1/3rd for previewing the website simulating a small laptop screen, and 2/3rds for the code, meaning I can see long lines without having to horizontal scroll.

When I do game on it, it's great for immersion too.

0:34 oh that's easy. use it as part of a multi-box table setup. Yes, my unopened boxes is what my laptop's sitting on.

I have the G9 and can say that if you're looking for a really good, 32:9, OLED monitor, it is 100% worth waiting for it to go on sale. only thing about the G series OLEDs is that they can be a bit finicky when it comes to getting them set up properly, similarly to how you had to change an arbitrary setting to get peak brightness for this AORUS, you have to do the same for the G series.

And if you can find it, get the one that doesn't have the smart technology built into it. It's cheaper, and all of the smart tech in my G9 has done nothing but frustrate me and make, and it adds nothing to the monitor except for let me change settings with a remote control rather than a built in joystick.

bought this a few weeks ago. love it. im coming from a 240hz oled and can barely notice the refresh rate difference. KVM has been useful for switching to my macbook too
