You’ve built a great app, and your users love opening it every day, but what if you could also help users when they’re not in your app? This year, Android is introducing new APIs to help you do this. The Bubbles API brings your app’s most important content to the user no matter what they’re doing on the device. Sharing Shortcuts provides new ways to share directly to your app’s contacts. This session will feature a technical deep-dive on getting started using these, and other, new APIs.

18:50 Please Google don't remove or restrict the system-alert-window.
It has so much more potential than this bubble API.
I don't get why replace it with such a restricted usage.
There won't be a way now to have customized on top views, to always be ready to show me content the way they were supposed to.
No more callerID apps, no more floating calculator, no more floating web browser, no more floating counters and graphs...
I've requested it here:
Please re-consider.
The bubble UI is something that many users don't even like. Many users disable this for Facebook. It can't replace all use cases of system-alert-window, and it will cause many apps to stop working as they won't have a good alternative to what they had before.
