Sen. Rand Paul: 'We absolutely must fix this mess'

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says Congress will resume the Electoral College proceedings Wednesday night once the U.S. Capitol is cleared of pro-Donald Trump rioters and safe for use.

Pelosi said she made the decision Wednesday in consultation with the Pentagon, the Justice Department and Vice President Mike Pence, who will preside.

She noted the day would always be “part of history,” but now it would be “as such a shameful picture of our country was put out into the world.”

Sen. Paul. If you do not have the Constitutional authority to overturn the certified electors from each state, then why do you have the option to object to each state. You get two hours to debate each state that is objected. I know that you know more about the Constitution than I do, but where does it say that you have to certify fraudulent results. I am a fan of states rights, but not to rig their elections.

You could have very well just sent the dual slates back to the states, and tell their LEGISLATURE (the one mentioned in the constitution to run elections, yea, that one, not the secretaries of state) to vote on it and certify it. Because they did NOT. So you are strawmaning, Herr Paul. Your father should NOT be proud of you today.
