As a NaruHina fan ( yes hinata was my first waifu crush ever as a kid and she will always hold a special place in my heart lol ) I absolutely love this scene from the light novel and the people who say this is outta character for hinata either don’t understand context or are just boruto haters because hinata always steps her game up when Naruto and her kids are involved whether it’s making sure Naruto has a meal and clothes for work or making sure the kids are doing well in school hinata is a very quiet character buts she’s very observant. Remember this is the same girl who go watched Naruto ever since they were kids and is the most observant of him so he could never fool her but she shows how considerate she is by playing along in not knowing because that gave Naruto peace of mind if he believed he wasn’t being a burden.

Those who was upset with that scene forgot what she did before. She stands up against Negi in the exam, which it almost killed her. Also, against Pain when Pain is about to take Naruto away. She almost got herself killed there too. Anther scene is when the Otsutsuki attack the village and taken Naruto away an she tried to stop them. She got herself hurt by that.

To sum up everything simply Hinata approach Sasuke knowing full well that he was about to do something suicidal. She wasn't going to have it knowing full well that the two most important people in her life her beloved husband and her dearest friend, would be torn apart from losing Sasuke. What's more she only feigned ignorance in order to let Naruto have some degree of Peace of Mind. And as everyone keeps forgetting she's a Shinobi, one of the things they do is practice deception. She knew full well there was something wrong with Naruto from the get-go, she just decided not to talk and just support him the best way she can, even going as far as to give his surrogate older brother a talking to, and warn him that if he does anything stupid that would cause unbearable sadness to the man she loved by getting himself killed for the ultra particles, she would never forgive him even in the pure land. So now it was completely in character oh, it's just a lot of these people don't pay attention
