Democracy is a form of government, not a religion. If it works, great, If it doesn’t, we need find ways to improve it or change into something else. Democracy assumes public as a whole is wise and efficient, which recent events showed anything but.

The US style of democracy is dysfunctional. There are too many loopholes for opposition parties to stall progress. Parliamentary democracies are far more agile, eg New Zealand and Australia. There are clowns in all governments but a coalition style government has more chance to succeed.

It works well you have a majority educated and informed people that are doing the voting, or you end up voting yourselves into all kinds of troubles.
