Did you know the 2024 Ford Raptor isn't that much more than an XLT F-150? Rather that's odd right? Publisher Tim Esterdahl walks through the build and price tool then compares it to a 2024 Ford F-150 XLT video he did yesterday.

Ford is smart about how they structure their lineup and such. Yeah a fully optioned XLT may start getting to within spitting distance of the base Raptor but that’s how they get you to start thinking up spec. Then when you get to the dealer and all they have are high package models costing more, the customer is already in the mindset that it’s feasible and “not that much more”.

all the 2024's jumped up quite a bit (mid refresh) the raptor did stay relatively the same. only problem with the Raptor is Dealer MARKUPS. Great Review ! still cannot believe how much the prices went up on the F150's. Wooow

The biggest caveat with a ford raptor:

You CANNOT get any employee discount or promotion of any kind to discount the msrp price.

What you paid for it in arizona, im paying the same thing in michigan, and so is bob from florida. Thats why the resale value is so high on this

Every other trim, you can get like 8k off msrp from an A or Z plan, to bring it down to reasonable prices.

Never again will I purchase a Ford Raptor.

I had to argue to replace my plastic oil pan because at 24, 000 miles they considered it normal wear and tear. (It was still under warranty.)

Then the back window fell out. I wasn't aware glue was holding it in place.

I'm not up-to-date if Ford has addressed these issues.

What's worse is going in for a simple oil change or a small modification only to find out that the one of the technicians' have broken something else on the truck.
This has happened two times, maybe three, and now it sits in the garage.

They dealership called me last week to see if i was interested in an avalanche gray, 2023 Raptor they had on the lot. SMH. I'm good.

We're relocating and I'll sell it when we land.

After a long search I placed a custom order for a 2024 V6 F150 Raptor at MSRP with no dealer added junk fees AND with price protection. Looking forward to delivery sometime in 2024!

I see Ford has taken some notes from GM as far as the bumper redesign. I like how Ford executes their Raptor reveal. Makes it exciting.

I’ve now been told that the “base” seats are actually more comfortable for everyday vs the stiffer more firm Recaro’s.

Oh and let me comment one other thing.

Last week, i sold my 21 raptor with the 801A package.

801A package in 21 gave me 90% of what any truck owner would need in north american.

Remaning 10% was an option called called 802A. It had the following that my truck never had: rear heated seates, upgraded sound system, suede inserts on the leather seats, heated wheel, torsen front diff (i added it myself as a seperate option)

In 22, they removed the base trim, 801A, and upcharged everyone 5k more for the "base" version now being 802A.

They sold 22 owners 5k worth of stuff they dont need.

Looks like in 24, they are selling you 1.3k worth of stuff you dont need and still raising the price of the truck.

This is an absolute scam from Ford and taking away the value of the truck.

Im switching trucks to the lunar edition ram trx for the last call of this generation, getting a 10k discount on it, and getting a more capeable engine powertrain at a fraction of the cost.

Im even going to argue that the lunar version looks better than the raptor. It looks phenomenal.

Ford keeps taking stuff away, whie ram is adding options.

Do a F150 xlt build and the F250 xlt looks like a bargain in comparison. Plus it gives you great towing and payload ability.

I’m confused how a ranger raptor is 55k and a bronco raptor is 90k??

Always good stuff. A question. I'm considering a new Raptor. Am also considering a bed cap, the RSI Smartcap. I believe the Smartcap weighs around 300 lbs. Do you have any idea if or how much that added weight in the back would subtract from the vehicles overall mpg? 1 mpg less, no biggie, though I'd rather it didn't, but 3 or more, may not do it. Thanks. Oh, any idea if you can get the new Raptor with that new side opening center of the tailgate? I like that new option on some of the other F150's.

Lol good luck finding a Raptor for MSRP.

Add another 10k at least for markups

For comparison, I own a 2020 GMC Sierra Elevation, 2WD, 3.0 Duramax. Locating an identical 2023 on local dealer sites, the exact same truck 3 years later has a $10k higher sticker price (without any dealer markup).

As far as the XLT vs. Raptor... they are different audiences! Raptors are for people that want to go fast and ever put much of anything in the bed or tow anything. They drive an empty truck offroad with ease. XLT has payload and towing!

Any guesses how much sales will drop next year, I say %50+, unless they find buyer in lala land

Serious question? Do you guys make really good money to afford these trucks at $60-80k? I don't understand how people can afford them. You need to be making $100k plus to afford such a payment.

Good luck finding a Raptor for base price. Dealers will kill you with markup which grows the gap of $11k to much greater. Maybe one day you can pay MSRP for a Raptor.

Trophy truck is the goal? Since when did a trophy truck have 4 heavy doors and a back seat? Make a f'n 2-door already!

Yep, and, if you want a Raptor with a 5.0L, Ford will not build it.
