People think this is just great timing, when in fact he just ignited the gases with his sheer force of will

The cameraman never misses a great shot featuring the main character.

His programmes were the best thing on TV for decades. I'd love to see them all again. "Connections".

absolutely the best. James Burke is a criminally unrecognized talent, his documentaries are the best the genre has to offer

Was going to say the late, great James Burke, then I checked and found he is still with us, aged 88. So he’s just great.

A major figure of my youth and he is the reason for my eternal fascination with the Apollo programme.

When he said it was the best shot I instantly recognized what it was.

“Or Moscow” truly in the spirit of Werner von Braun: “Once the rockets go up who knows where they come down? That’s not my department”

Definitely Agree. James Burke from his brilliant BBC Series "Connections".

Connections... one of the best educational series ever on TV

The exposition was quite good too...hinting at the alternative use of technology for destruction vs discovery. This history series was incredibly well done.

You said "greatest shot" and I knew exactly what shot you were talking.

This is why so many people my age ( I'm 53 ) loved watching James Burke on TV as kids. This was back in the day when TV science programmes were like high school level, they did not dumb anything down, you paid attention or you didn't learn anything as most peope in the UK didn't have video recorders in the 1970s.
