Couldn’t he have just rewound the timer to maybe 30 to 60 minutes since I think that cooking timer has up to that setting and most bombs aren’t gonna have a trigger on the timer being adjusted.

I really love all the people complaining about the lack of slavish realism, because apparently they don't know how TV works.

College student studying mechanical engineering here. First of all, in a setup like this none of the wires would be warmer than the other, they would all be either VIN, Ground, or Data, none of which get hot to the touch on a simple force sensor setup. Second, this might be some bomb disposal gear I'm not aware of but the jumper cables connected to the wire's insulation would do nothing, unless it was simply reading amperage, but cannot actually affect the voltage going through the copper. Third, connecting a microcomputer like this to an egg timer would be extremely overly complicated, but why not just turn the timer so it wouldn't go off for an hour? Lot of things wrong with this scene.
