After a BJP worker was killed in an attack by miscreants in Nandigram, Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on May 23 demanded that the Election Commission take strict action in the matter.
Reportedly a BJP worker died in an attack by miscreants on a few houses on Wednesday in Nandigram. Local BJP workers claim that the assault was perpetrated by TMC members. The Congress MP further stated that If bloodshed is occurring in the presence of the Election Commission and central security forces, then what would happen in their absence?
"The Election Commission should take strict action. If, in the presence of the Election Commission and central security forces, there is bloodshed, then what would happen in their absence?... The law and order is poor in Bengal since the day the TMC formed the government... The government of Bengal does not want people to participate in the elections," Chowdhury told ANI
