I agree. I think the talking is necessary to get it off your chest, and for a while you feel “better, ” but then after some time, those old thoughts/traumas may be triggered by some internal/external stimuli and you’re back to square one again, so maybe it’s effective to talk about the trauma and release that energy through vocalization, then go back and do this to break down the behavior that feeds and recirculates the trauma.
