There is SO much anger wrapped up in hearts full of self-righteous indignation. Their biggest fear is not being surrounded by people who believe and validate their foolishness, so it’s a threat when you pull poor souls from bondage into freedom. 😆

Thank you for this. I grew up UPC and I'm STILL trying to unlearn the bad doctrine that I was taught. It wasn't all bad, but there was much abuse and I'm just trusting God for healing and wisdom

Thank you! I really needed this tonight. I left the upci some time ago, but I'm still letting go, if you know what I mean. Since it was my whole world and I'm am an introvert to the core, sometimes I'm tempted to go back just for the community. I won't of course because the UPC community kind of sucks, but sometimes you need a little reminder of why you left. The comment about you "having a reprobate mind" hit home for me. Before I left, but while I was struggling in the church, my Pastor told me I was almost to the point of having a reprobate mind. Who knew that asking questions about things you were studying in the Bible would turn you into a reprobate? 🤷‍♀️. I guess now that I am out of the church I am fully reprobate and completely back slidden. Fortunately for me, when I slid out of the back door of the church, Jesus was there with his arms open wide and I slid right into His loving embrace. Thank you for your videos... I am one you have helped and encouraged. God bless 😇

In my experience the UPCI preys on the weak minded and vulnerable. If someone has a sound mind and is analytical they won't fair well in that church.

I loved the Magic Hair video! Awesome. I left the upc in 2007. My wife passed away in 2018 and I stopped cutting my hair. So I got magic hair now. Maybe those stewing in self righteousness can stew on that and give you a moment of peace. Keep up the good work an thank you.

New subscriber and love your reactions to these comments 😂 I’m currently in the upc, I’m in my 40s and have been in for a decade. I want to leave but it’s hard for a number of reasons. Most days the quote from Zoolander’s Mugatu, “ I feel like I’m taking crazy pills!” comes to mind 😂 Yes there have been some lovely people I have met, but in my personal experience, the meanest women I have ever met have been in the church. It didn’t go over well when I pointed out that heels should be a no no when considering their other standards. Hair dying is a no but they all had perms. So I might have said...there is no difference, a perm changes the way God made your hair 😬 Needless to say a good number of UPC Christians have made my life hell on Earth 😂 Your videos have made me feel that I’m not the crazy one. Thank you!

You did so well Joanna, keep it up. Also, I love how people use 1 peter 3:4 for defense against hair and makeup but why they dont go further down a couple verses and call they're husbands "lord" like Sarah did.
