SCORN 'Logghi Barroghi' [Full Album]

Показать описание
The second Scorn album following Nik Bullen's departure and perhaps the earliest example of the modern Scorn sound with its stripped-down industrialized beats and deep basslines. Released by Earache in 1996, this was also (to my knowledge) the last new Scorn material released on that label.

Scorn is no longer active these days, but you can pick up the final releases from label Ohm Resistance here:

Back in 1999 or a friend of my roommate had a new Kicker Solobaric (square) sub in his BMW, and I told him I wanted to test this on his system. So he got in and preliminarily set the bass level well above normal. Whatever song came on, it immediately blew his sub, which he was quite irritated by, regardless of having a warranty he was ready to cash in. I held some mild satisfaction that that, indeed is the legendary bass of this album. This entire masterpiece, not for everybody obviously, never gets old for me, and is among my favorite for testing speakers on.

Bought a vinyl test press copy on ebay like 20 years ago. The seller was James Plotkin, I didn't had him on the screen back then, but somehow the name rang a bell, so I sent him $140 cash in an envelope and wrote some stupid lines like "hey, your name sounds familiar, are you into making music by any chance?"
Later I dug deep into Plotkins work and became a great admirer, kinda making amends, but I'm afraid he still regrets giving this gem to a jerk like me... hahahaa.

Damn it is sounding soo progressive even nowadays.. Good lord Jupiter I was a child when first heard it. I've never took any drugs in my life but in that evening me and my brother were sitting and listening these cosmic music and after half hour I was laying on the floor and he was on the table and just sayd "I think my head is getting soften and flowing somwhere else..". And it was only because of sound this album...

This has so many diverse beats for the year it came out
(summer 96)
I remember finding it right when it was released and being blown away with a few friends in my car that i upgraded to a sound system with 6x9s and 10s in a box. It became the joyride hit for that summer.

Spongie and Fumble are two of the more interesting cuts here.... really goofy sounding, yet completely sinister all the same.

Loved Nik Bullen, but Harris did just fine carrying on the Scorn name, even better maybe.

very interesting direction for scorn to take, but i definitely think mick harris lost something when nic bullen left. evanescence is still unbelievable to this day, unforgettable dark ambient/dub

Pithering Twat used to hit so hard that it messed with your voice sound so people would just start talking to each other like "do you hear that? am i trippin?"
It would literally vibrate your neck, throat, cheeks, lips, gums, while you talked during that bassline.

I'm not sure why or what changed, but I didn't get so interested from L.B. on. Still think the Earache era is Scorn's best.
