Leopard gecko makes annoyance sounds (Κηλιδωτό γκέκο βγάζει ήχους ενόχλησης)

My leopard gecko (Eublepharis macularius), Droplet, makes some annoyance sounds when I pick her up after a big meal. Leopard geckos can make such sounds when they feel uncomfortable, for example if they have eaten too much, if they are before a shed, or just when not accustomed to handling in general. 15/9/2019

Το κηλιδωτό μου γκέκο (Eublepharis macularius), η Σταλίτσα, βγάζει κάποιες φωνές ενόχλησης μόλις την σηκώνω μετά από ένα μεγάλο γεύμα. Τα κηλιδωτά γκέκο μπορούν να κάνουν τέτοιους ήχους όταν δε νιώθουν άνετα, για παράδειγμα αν έχουν φάει πάρα πολύ, όταν είναι πριν την έκδυση, ή εάν απλώς δεν έχουν συνηθίσει γενικά στο χειρισμό. 15/9/2019

I think it's the leopard gecko equivalents of how humans go "hurgh" and grunt and groan when straining or annoyed. I can't guess what each individual gecko is communicating for each situation, but it's a general way of explaining it. It may not always be indicative of pain, but definitely not usually the sound of joyful cheer.
One of my geckos often makes this sound if he's woken up or even just startled by me filling his water dish. He's fine, he's just vocal about being starled or facing a minor inconvenience.

My Leo made some sounds like this when I had to hold him down a little to get stuck shed off him, it broke my heart I could tell he was frustrated

Lol this happened to me xD My gecko was climbing up my arm to my shoulder then I put her down and she made the noise 😂 and so I put her back up lol

1:25 my gecko does this for the same reason or when he tries to go under my hand but he pushes his nose too hard lol

Yea mine makes the same sound…it usually means he wants me to put him down…or he’s frustrated he can’t climb up the couch lol

My gecko makes that noise whenever she curls up in my hand or tries to escape and explore

Everyone is commenting how this is so cute and all that, but she’s actually doing it because she’s struggling and straining herself to try to climb his hand when he holds her like that, leopard geckos are not a climbing type gecko, yes they can physically climb some obstacles given there not too big or steep but for the most part there flat ground dwelling geckos and not a climber, so, don’t do this with your gecko thinking it’s “cute” because this is why they actually make that sound, I also know this because my gecko has done it in the past if I hold him wrong, so I’m just throwing this out there to possibly inform and educate people on why they do that.

Mine will make that noise when I have to soak her feet to peel off the stuck shed. Luckily her sheds have gotten better after I switched her vitamins.
