With the ridiculously high cost of higher education these days. The students should make every opportunity of it.

It will be an interesting story to watch. Social media creates a lot of "influencers", who can make money off their content. But if you are a live performance artist, there is a conflict between art and commerce. When the artist/performer pays another professional to manage their NIL, that is a whole other business. I absolutely agree that college athletes deserve to profit off their efforts. Colleges have been doing it for years. But it will be a bumpy ride.

It's about time we reward individuals that desire to become productive human beings in our society. A pure example of networking with cash in reverse settings.

This is great. They won’t need our tax dollars to subsidize their education.

Good on these young men & women. For a lot of them this will be their peak time to earn relatively big sums since majority dont make the pros so secure that bag people !! For you and your family !! More power to the athletes !!

This is exciting, props and kudos to the student athletes taking advantage of this. As stated in the video, not all student athletes are aiming to go into the pro leagues of their respective sports.

All thanks to the supreme court forces them to do this.

People who are against this dont have a clue how hard it is playing at the division 1 level. You can have a full ride and still struggle. Its literally just enough to go to class and eat school given meals. If you want to do somthing on your free time, you have no money. You cant work, so you cant even save up to buy a car, and not all athletes recive full rides. Coaches dont have unlimited scholarships, so the there are plenty of students that are deep in loans because they cannot work to earn income. But this is a great way for other players to make some income while playing even if they are not in the spotlight in the sport, the can create their own. Plus there is coaches getting paid millions while some student athletes on their roster have to pay for themselves.

This is all meaningless without more limits on advertising, advertisements are often misleading and fail.

I hope former athletes file suite. Can athletes still work a job, or do you have to be popular enough to have people throw money at you or you starve?

This is wrong. College athletes get a free education room and board all they can eat and other perks like free tutoring. To have them make money off they’re image while getting a free education, this is going to fuel big schools, especially with a strong football programs, to separate from the pack. Students will go to the schools that pay the best for their NIL and the entire notion of education is down the drain. But it’s already been that way for a while

Dr Pepper and Gatorade being advertised by young amateur athletes just seems like another way to advertise sugary drinks to kids.

Just what we need, more social media influencers. Ugh! I'll be glad when this era is over (although I'm for these student athletes cashing in).

College Athletes shouldn't get paid for playing they should just enjoy playing the game. It's bad enough the professionals get millions just for running a ball down a field. Just stupid

Soon, sport franchise and athletics will hold a whopping 50% of the US economy. The rest 50% is porn!
