The Awakening Machine for the Defense Unit 1-11 is now also a weekly chance mount, it was guaranteed on beta but now after completing wave 20 each week you'll have a chance of getting the mount from the chest.

The bird you get from the shards, ONLY the person who breaks the shield gets it. No one else can get the mount from just helping. You have to farm the shards up that are warbound so you're not stuck on just getting it on one alt, break the shield then kill the rare. It's exactly like Alani in pandaria.

its worth noting that the fishing mount does NOT need each fish to be fished up all at once before that hour is done. i thought based on other difficult fishing related events in the past, progress would be reset when the timer runs out. it does not, and progress is saved, so even if you aren't big on fishing competitively or want to take things slow, it is entirely possible to fish up whats needed passively for as many weeks you like as you do the derby!
