Firstly, making sure the bike is switched off is the very first thing to do in an accident to make the area safe.... Google it.

I'm uploading this to hopefully help people learn by this guy's mistake.....10 Minutes before his test, this guy who had been fully trained in the weeks prior, practises his 3rd U-Turn of the day before heading off to the test centre 2 miles away......Just shows we can all mess up at any time.

Just remember, what people are TAUGHT to do and what they ACTUALLY do afterwards can be two completely different things.  Ask any instructor.

What did I learn? That steel fences are considerably more bouncy than I first thought.

It's strange, I've been riding motorcycles since i was 4 years old including trials and all through training for my mod 2 my u turns were fine never had a single problem. On the morning of my mod2 test doing some pre test training and i couldn't for the life of me manage a single u turn out of about 5 attempts, granted i didn't pick a fight with a steel fence but it shows how pre test nerves can affect you.

It's great how calm you are when one of your students messes up. If I was a learner, and even if I had heart myself, it would be comforting to hear a sound, stable voice in my ear telling me what to do.

some say Ian is still practising U-turns on a forgotten industrial estate to this day

That looked like a sore one. I struggled with u-turns until I realised that more weight I took off the handle bars and put onto the seat, the easier it was to balance. Thanks for the videos. My DAS is just round the corner so
your videos are helping me brush up my skills. That CX650 turbo is a peach.

I hated the U-Turn part of the test, the rest I breezed through but for some reason U-Turns just made me panic. So I feel for him!

I never do U-Turns, there's usually a roundabout within 10 miles :)

I wish my instructor was as calm as yourself when I was learning.

Mine got mad when I pulled over because the radio stopped working and whacked my knee with his bike as he aggressively pulled up next to me. Another time he overtook and left me behind when I didn't feel confident about turning right into a junction with oncoming traffic. All he managed to achieve is lower my confidence and make me uncomfortable, getting angry and aggressive isn't helpful.

I wish my instructor was as cool and calm as you. I'm sure your videos have saved lives. Top job.
