Synopsis: The Boogeyman, a horror-thriller from the mind of best-selling author Stephen King, opens in cinemas soon. High school student Sadie Harper and her younger sister Sawyer are reeling from the recent death of their mother and aren’t getting much support from their father, Will, a therapist who is dealing with his own pain. When a desperate patient unexpectedly shows up at their home seeking help, he leaves behind a terrifying supernatural entity that preys on families and feeds on the suffering of its victims. The Boogeyman, directed by Rob Savage (“Host”) with a screenplay by Scott Beck & Bryan Woods (“A Quiet Place”) and Mark Heyman (“Black Swan”) and a screen story by Scott Beck & Bryan Woods based upon the short story by Stephen King, stars Sophie Thatcher (“Yellowjackets”), Chris Messina (“Birds of Prey”), Vivien Lyra Blair (“Obi-Wan Kenobi”), Marin Ireland (“The Umbrella Academy”), Madison Hu (“Bizaardvark”), LisaGay Hamilton (“Vice”), and David Dastmalchian (“Dune”). The producers are Shawn Levy (“Stranger Things”), Dan Levine (“Arrival”), and Dan Cohen (“The Adam Project”), with John H. Starke (“Sicario”), Emily Morris (“Rosaline”), Scott Beck, Bryan Woods, Ryan Cunningham, Adam Kolbrenner (“The Tomorrow War”), and Robin Meisinger serving as executive producers.

The cinematography already looks incredible. Love the way the camera flips as the child does. Felt serious tension just from the trailer. Can’t wait!

In the end the Boogeyman wasn't killed yet, credits start rolling. While half the people from the theaters leave a credits scene starts. Doorbell rings. They open the door. John Wick standing outside just says "yeah..."

As constant reader of Mr. Kings work, I do not get excites about any new adaptations announced. Most of the time the movies are garbage. That being said, the cinematography looks tense and the jump scares good.
SPOILER ALERT ( but really the story was published in the early 80's)

Yet, this is a huge departure from the story in his book Night shift,
The kids and the dad in the book get killed by the boogeyman.
The boogeyman turns out to be the therapist the dad is seeing as he is wracked by guilt that he did not believe his kids when thru said the boogeyman was after them.

I was interested until I saw the director. Host was good but his movie dashcam was unwatchable. I'll skip this in the theaters and wait for it to be on Hulu
