How to Use the Live Paint Bucket Tool and Live Paint Selection Tool in Adobe Illustrator CC

The Live Paint Bucket and Live Paint Selection tools are great if you need to color ALL overlapping pieces of your artwork! FYI, you may want to expand the painted objects before sending to a printer - they may cause confusion. :)

I have to press the Shift key and then without releasing the Shift key with the other hand, release the mouse and press the arrows to paint the stroke with another color, I do not know if it is because I am using the Windows platform. But excellent tutorial anyway.

When I use this tool, sometimes there is a pop-up says 'If you wish to merge the paths to the Live Paint group, click the Merge Live Paint button', I don't know why this happens, seems unpredictable to me

Hello. I have made a sketch using the brush tool and illustrator will not allow me to use the live bucket tool to fill it with color. Is there something I am missing? Should I have done the sketch with the pencil tool only?

I made objects, live painted them. Then I went to make pattern. In this tool everything was knocked out. No fills, no strokes, no colours. How can I reinstate the situation before I pressed, "pattern make"?

Still trying to understand the live paint tool. Have been using illustrator casually for 7 years but never understood it. It looks easy, but in reality I often get stuck, not sure why, it refuses to accept the objects I want to paint. It is the most mysterious tool. Still actually no idea how it works. The search for help continues..

Helloo thank you so much for this tutorial! I just wanted to ask if there's a way to use a brush tool on a filled live bucket group? I'm trying to add some custom brush textures on the filled sections but I don't know how to paint on it in a way where the brush will only be painted on a selected group and not paint outside the lines. I can't seem to get it right.

So im using the grid tool right and the live paint tool to fill in squares, once they are coloured in, there's a shortcut to be able to change each section of colour at once without having to click each individual sqaure or use the selection tool, do you know how, i used it a while back but cant remember how i got it?
