Crescent Locking Adjustable Wrench Review (2023)

In this video I review the strange but surprisingly useful Crescent Locking Adjustable wrench or Crescent locking adjustable dual material wrench as its known on Amazon. Adjustable wrenches are great for their versatility, locking pliers are an industry standard, so what happens when you combine them?

This thing is definitely a weird tool for a heavy equipment mechanic to have, and anyone in general as it looks like something that is just a novelty. However, I have found good use for this and in this video I explain all the details on this strange tool and help you decide if you need one in your tool box too!

I've said this before and I'll say it again, you don't need big name brand tools to be a good mechanic. If you don't use a tool all that much, it does not warrant you spending hundreds of dollars on a big name brand tool. Crescent is definitely a great budget tool brand that delivers on quality and reliability.

This tool definitely fills a gap. The old quote is that no mechanic would ever use an adjustable wrench. But what if you're not a mechanic? What if you are needing to work on something when you don't have a proper toolkit with you? The issue with adjustable wrenches is that the jaws open as you use them and end up rounding the nut/bolthead. Having a locking adjustable wrench addresses that. Also, often you dont even know what type of nut you have to work on - is it going to be SAE or metric? Having this tool handy addresses that.
