Brown meat on the stovetop before adding it to the crock pot cooker. It adds a wonderful caramelized flavor you just can't get from the slow cooker. Cooking meat without browning it first will result in a grey blob.

I am trying to make the ginger teriyaki chicken meal for tomorrow night and I am beyond happy I was able to see it in action.
Like I was so confused when the instructions told me to put a metal bowl in the crock pot.. Now I now I can also cook the rice within the bowl lol!

I guess results will vary, but I bought some cheap pork chops and generic brand rice, soup and replaced onion mix with seasonings, and that food was great.
