Recconnecting with my childhood pastime of sculpting animals, & this time I'm sculpting an Okapi from Milliput epoxy putty and painting it in acrylics and oil paint. I really love how this Milliput sculpture turned out and I hope you enjoy watching the process and hearing the story of teaching myself to create an original Okapi model!

✨IN THIS VIDEO I SHARE:
○ Making a sculpture from scratch, starting with a wire armature
○ How I work with turqouise Milliput epoxy putty for miniature animals
○ My struggles with animal sculpture & the helpful tips I've learned
○ How I balance realism sculpture & perfectionism
○ Acrylic painting with only a brush & how I paint oils on a miniature model
○ And a little bit about my journey as a life-long artist!

I publish videos once a month sharing my adventures in creating horse and animal art in my free time for my own enjoyment, like sculpture, painting, printmaking and more. If you enjoy watching the adventures of an artist making things by hand, and sometimes learning something new, I’d love to show you what I make next!

This was awesome with the easy to understand steps. Even as a beginner I was able to follow along. Great video.

I usually sculpt in a much smaller scale for miniatures, but there are lots of great tips here that transfer to that medium! You captured one of my favorite animals so well but more importantly made the process look fun and approachable

Oh I love okapi! ❤ I was once able to pet one and their fur is by far the softest thing I have ever touched! It's insane... And this sculpture is amazing! Thank you so much for taking us along the journey! 🙏
