Asalato is a great instrument. It's like a conundrum. To play it – you need to understand it's principles. I've decided to share with you those ideas which help me to develop my asalato skills. I hope it will be useful for you. Please write a comment if you want to know more.

If you'd like to have a colorful asalato, I can make one for you and send it to your address.

I've been trying to learn asalato for a some time now, but didn't have a teacher. I tried various asalato youtubers, but You are actually the first one that put it out the way can actually understand and make progress. I play keys, I play kalimba, and now I wanted to try asalato. With what you said here in this video I finally start to understand. Thanks :)

A good teacher does more than just show. First they understand the whole and how to segment into managable pieces without losing the overall intention. Then they lead and and explain. You did this so well in this video!

I bought my own Asalato last week and I've been practicing every day. I've never been very good at precussion / beat consistency, but this video has helped me so much even just watching it for a few minutes! Thank you so much, this instrument is beautiful and you're extremely helpful in understanding the math and the physics. Looking forward to this whole playlist!

Thank you very much for this video and your explanations! I always had difficulties with the counting when playing the Asalato. So your video is like "the missing link" for me and is therefore very helpful. I would be definitely grateful and happy about an additional video of you. All the best!

4:09 in and i’ve already learned so much I hadn’t realized I should be given more attention to, but Great job at isolating just what matters I’ve been playing for maybe three or four days but I feel pretty comfortable with just keeping 4/4 IG :). Thank you. 🙏🏾

Very good! You are the first one I see on youtube teaching with details what I consider to be the most important about how to play this instrument. Thank You! Make more videos, please 😊

I saw the asalato instrument for the first time in my life only today, and instantly i was struck by the rhythm similarity to konnakol phrases
And then while i was trawling through youtube and found you using konnakol to count the beat and now i am hooked!
I am learning to play rock drumming, japanese taiko, and konnakol, I will just have to find time to learn how to play this form of percussion too!
Thank you so for posting this video!🙏
