CLOSE CONTACT DANCING, ROMANTIC MUSIC, LED TO LASTING ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIPS. THIS WAS THE FORMULA, BECAUSE NO STEPS TO COURTING WERE SKIPPED OVER. This is one of those songs where I really notice what incredibly exquisite diction Al had. He never sounded stiff or formal, but every word was enunciated with such perfect elegance and precision. Oh, and those high notes! Swoon, indeed.

I've loved Bing Crosby all of my 60+ years. When I "discovered" Al Bowlly relatively recently, Bing moved down, along with other crooners. It's the emotion he brings to all of the lyrics~most definitely heartfelt. Bing and others are wonderfully stylish, but I never feel as if they're singing to me. The two that do seem to have that something extra are Al Bowlly and~I know you'll laugh~Hoagy Carmichael. I can close my eyes and feel that *I* am being sung to. No wonder Al was a "heartthrob"!
