A drive through Epsom

Sunday June 24 2018 at 5am. Driving into Epsom town centre and then heading back towards Ewell. A 2012 version of this can be found on SteveDD1.

Took me a minute to recognise the direction you were approaching the town. I grew up in Dorking so Epsom was the closest place with an Our Price and a McDonalds! Mind you that was late 80s. I was in a band that played the Ashley Centre in about 1989 or something. Fun days!

I lived there from 1959 to 1970. Undertook most of my schooling there. Absolutely loved living there from the age of 6 to 17. I see the Odeon has gone in the High Street. I used to work in Burtons which used to be next to Boots, but it looks like thats now become a McDonald’s. days. Used to go to Church of England primary school which used to at the end of Hook Road on the left just after going under the 2 railway bridges at 3.52 and before going up East Street. I would love to go back there, but I live in Devon now. Bit too far to go, especially given todays fuel prices!
