Thank you once again Mark for your wise words. Doing a wedding on 12/12 with 100 people inside. After talking with both the bride and groom, they are very stressed out about it and so am I. I was just in the process of writing up a similar introduction so your timing is perfect. Again, thank you for sharing and showing the way.

He, Mark. This is great advice. I'm a marriage commissioner in Alberta and this is something I've been addressing since March when things really started to go sideways with many wedding plans. I also like to acknowledge that, in many cases, the ceremony is not what the couple had originally planned and hoped for ... they've had to scale back or make significant changes. In the ceremony, itself, I like to work in something like; "Through celebrations like this we acknowledge a great hope for a future together. We are saying that we are in this for each other. Each loving and supporting the other through the years and whatever may come our way.
At this time of disruption … disruption that has often forced changes to our best-laid plans, celebrating a wedding with all its hopes for the future becomes even more special."

Thanks for your entertaining videos and content, Mark! I’m a funeral celebrant in the UK and absolutely agree - it’s hard for the celebrant with ‘all the eyes’ and masks inhibiting feedback and it’s important to ‘name it’. I always include the covid restrictions in my opening words and put my right hand on my heart when people thank me which means it’s heartfelt and there isn’t a stray hand for them to grab!

Hey Mark! I’m going to do my brothers wedding in June. First time. Only in front of like 20 people so I’ll be fine there. But I’m more worried about the paperwork side of things? Signatures and such? Any help? Advice?

I did 50 weddings in Michigan in 2020. I'd say about 4 of them had participants who wore masks. I only did a few weddings where there were more than 20 guests and not once did the venue or the couple require people to be socially distant. How I made it through this season without getting infected is a miracle in itself. I didn't shake hands, using my own version of your "Let me protect you." I wore my mask, but other than that, I'm very grateful this season is over now. And I hope 2021 bears the fruit of waiting for a vaccine people will take.
You're a wonderful presenter, Mark. Thanks for your presence.
