Best tutorial I have watched on Keyhole so far. In fact I think I finally get it now :) Thanks.

This is the first video on internet to make me understand keyhole

At first I was so confused and I was like "this guy stinks" then you said now I'm going to teach you how to use this method and it all made sense

This is literally the only tutorial on keyhole method that actually helps

Saw many keyhole tutorials and they were all so complicated but with this video, i was finally able to understand it without problems. Thank You :D

I first learned how to solve a pyraminx on my own an this is almost exactly the method I came up with. But I only use 1 algorithm ( L R' L' R). The algorithm swaps all the edges of the plane your facing counter clockwise and flips the bottom one and the left one.

1) I would orient the tips
2) solve the centers
3) I would use the algorithm to solve 2 edges of the first layer (they are automatically one the same top)
4) I would use the algorithm to solve the back edge (aka the final edge of the top)
5) an then I could use the algorithm once to solve the last 3 edges.
the last 3 edges are not that straightforward but they are always solvable by using the algorithm max twice with a different rotation of the cube

I quickly improved upon the method by learning that : (all of these steps aren't necessary)
-R' L R L' = (L R' L' R) (L R' L' R)
-you could skip 4 when : it is already solved or when an other edge is already solved and you use a T or T' then doing step 5 and then reversing the T/T'
-in a lot of case you can do 3 by doing 2 in a smart way (color neutral + correct order of orienting centers)
-an other optimization for 3 is you can use R T' R' or L' T L
-I'm currently learning the L R' L R equivalents when you rotate the cube so I don't have to rotate the cube :
C' R' L R L' C = L' T L T'
C' L R' L' R C = T L' T' L
C R' L R L' C' = T' R T R'
C L R' L' R C' = R T' R' T
(C = rotate cube clockwise, C' = C C)
(a lot of the time you can leave out the C or C' at the end since the cube is already solved)

other optimizations would be:
- turn the tips when your hand is close to them
- Learning the combined algorithms :
2 flip : (L R' L' R) (T' R T R')
2 flip when not next to each other : R' L R' L' R T' R T (= R' (L R' L' R) (T' R T R') R )
rotate 3 edges counter clockwise : L' T L T R T R' ( = (L' T L T') (T' R T R') )
rotate 3 edges clockwise : R T' R' T' L' T' L (= ( R T' R' T) ( T L' T' L) )
- Learning faster algorithms for 4 (the ones show in the video)

If you do all the optimizations:
1) takes 8/3 moves
2) takes 11/3 moves
3) around 2 moves
4) 45/16 moves
5) 5.4 moves
total = 16.54... moves average

If you do no optimizations:
1) 8/3
2) 8/3
3) 229/30
4) 10/3
5) 7.7
total = 24 move average

So there is around an 7.5 move improvement. You can see that taking 2 and 3 together saves roughly 4.5 moves so this is clearly the most important

I have only learned the LBL metrod, and i heard that there was a lot of methods to Pyraminx. Then i tried to firgure out a method. And I tried something like this. So I actually learned keyhole by myself

what if you only have two edges left but the are in the right places and flipped

what happens if when you are filling in the keyhole it is in the right spot but orientated incorresctly?

Amazing video, but it kinda took a while to explain some of the things which made me a bit bored but it also helped make my times better!

what if for the last step, there is only 2 edges messed up and one of the edges is solved already?
