Kamala Harris nods as student talks of 'ethnic genocide' in Israel

The interaction came as Harris made a surprise visit on Tuesday to a political science class at George Mason University in northern Virginia to encourage voter registration and discuss voting rights. As Harris took questions after speaking, one of the female students voiced her concerns about US financial and military support for Israel and Saudi Arabia. 'I see that over the summer there have been, like, protests and demonstrations in astronomical numbers standing with Palestine, but then just a few days ago there were funds allocated to continue backing Israel, which hurts my heart because it's ethnic genocide and displacement of people, the same that happened in America, and I'm sure you're aware of this,' the student said, as Harris nodded.

Lol, Kamala had nothing substantive to say in response to the young lady's well put together questions so Harris just patted her on the head with some dismissive girl power slogans and kept it moving.

Non-story here. I'm surprised CNN is covering this also. I lean right and I am definitely no fan of Harris, but the student's didn't even pose a question. She was saying she disagrees with money being sent to Israel. Harris "nodded" to indicate she was listening when the girl said "it hurts my heart", not in agreement with the Israeli genocide comment. Harris probably didn't even hear everything the girl was saying through the annoying muffled masks. Harris' response was fine. She chose not to get in a debate with the student and just told the girl to continue to speak your voice. What is she to do, get in a debate with this student during this photo-op Q&A session?

Proud of this girl for having the courage to say the truth about what Palestinian people are enduring, in the mean time international community is letting all these genocides happening without any action especially USA is partly responsible for these acts of Israel since it fund, arm and defend this international terrorist country.

The student is absolutely right why are we giving them money and not US citizens? Israel is one of the richest countries in the world they don't need any economic support from us. We shouldn't be continuing to support a country that got us attacked for supporting them. The reason why Republicans support Israel is they know Israel can offer financial support to America. And most Israeli-Americans can make large contributions to their campaigns.

Genocide? Harris should have pointed out that this was factually not true. Please leave aside the idiocy of "her truth".

Well, what does one call it when an oppressed people of historical genocidal proportions, oppresses another people. And don’t tell me the Israelis are not oppressive.

Operation Cast Lead destroyed 19, 000 Palestinian homes. An IDF pilot was asked ‘how does it feel to kill women and children?’ His response: ‘How does it feel? I feel the slight shudder of my jet’s wings as I release my rockets.’

The US has a lot of money, this money is separated to fund different things such as education, military, fund other countries, buy merchandise, etc. Israel has nothing to do with their educational or social problems. It is the US’s problem to collect and use this money in a way that life there can be better. Saying that it is bcs of Israel, the only jewish country, that ppl in America are suffering from poverty or educational issues or others is just antisemitic, we’ve heard this excuse a thousand times already "Jews are the source of my problems", we know how it looks like and we will no longer stay silent.

This is a non-story. When you look at the speeches VP Harris has given at AIPAC and her voting record as a Senator about Israel, her support is straightforward. What we see here is the encouragement of a youth to vocalize their thoughts and viewpoints. This is actually a key for learning and open-mindedness, because it gives others with different views the opportunity to give respectful but direct critiques to her views. This is how we are able to gain consensus folks. No one’s voice should be suppressed but we must all be open to hearing opposing perspectives.

Read, Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid by President Jimmy Carter. Can you imagine if it was the other way around were Israelis' were treated like the Palestinians' we'd never hear the end of it, with Movies, Song and the usual tricks of why are we the victims, why is everyone always picking on us.
