Gluta IV drip was and I think still is very much popular here in the Philippines. Their selling point was that it whitens the skin. There's an obsession with skin whitening in this part of asia the way some people are obsessed with tanning in the opposite side of the globe...

I get the gist of your suggestion to eat spinach, but there is also some risk factors in excessive or raw consumption due its high oxalate content (one of the highest in green veg). It can block calcium absorption, that can lead to calcium-oxalate kidney stone formation. Some recommend cooking it and throwing away the water to reduce the oxalate content. As much as antioxidants like glutathione are important, in my layperson’s understanding, ingesting them through food doesn’t make it completely safe for everyone.

Yess! Thank you sharing this. Glutathione is popular in the Philippines and many of my relatives take this for vanity. They want to have a fair complexion. It’s so sick that they still carry colonial mentality.

The problem with people supplementing glutathione, is the fact that your body can become dependent on an external source and stop producing it naturally! I’ve learned, that once your body stops naturally producing glutathione, it’s difficult to gain natural production back. I don’t see the benefits of glutathione treatments outweighing the risks. Eating eggs helps our bodies make glutathione naturally.

I hear topical glutathione is better/safer than IV regarding skin lightening. I do IV infusions at least 3 times a month with various vitamins, medications, peptides, and glutathione. It's a MUST when I'm experiencing an endometriosis/pcos flare-up

It maybe okay health wise but it just shows the fucked up colour bias of our country. Colourism is rampant in India and these treatments just feed into those insecurities

I do it for my fibromyalgia syndrome. My mitochondrial membranes are extremely damged leading to utter exhasution. It is very, very, very expensive. I would not do this if I would not have FMS. Also, oral S-Acetyl Glutathione is cheaper. Only take it if you clear it with your healthcare practitioner and you NEED it.

It's an abundant endogenous amino acid. There's virtually no risk other than umm... Getting bacterial infection in your right ventricular and either death or most certainly permanent damage from the antibiotics if it isn't a perfectly sanitized process with certified nurse/doctor doing it.

Theres a lot of ways to up your glutathione. Taking NAC for example is great to up your glutathione and great for your skin. Or just taking glutathione period.

In philippines you can get Gluta just anywhere i mean theres alot of aesthetic clinic theres more clinic here compare to mcdonals

People go overboard. Just eat healthy. Spinach is amazing!
(I love spinach, but you can also overdo it there. Eat a normal amount or you will get the shits.)
