Using DD to write sectors of zeroes or random data is worse... this method would permit data recovery.

I 100% support the use of rm -rf on OSX, and I encourage all OSX users to use it.

sudo means "i'm the owner of the laptop so i can do everything"
rm means "remove"
-rf means (?)
