NASA has scrubbed the launch of Boeing’s Starliner, which was set to send two astronauts to the International Space Station. The cited reason for the postponement was a complication with an oxygen relief valve on the solid rocket booster.

Oxygen valve on the solid rocket booster... Does the reporter even know what herself is talking about?

Now we finally know what's wrong with this entire program. They are using LOX on a solid rocket booster. Hey guys, that doesn't work.

If you think your solid rocket motor has an oxygen valve.. you should always scrub until you’ve read the manual.

It takes a lot of courage to ride on a Boeing rocket.

If they found an oxygen valve on the solid rocket booster, they really better delay the launch.

"...oxygen valve on the solid rocket boosters...", say what? Please get a field reporter with some basic knowledge or ability to get the news properly. The oxygen valve is on the upper stage Centaur. Even if she didn't know that, at least know that there is NO oxygen value in the solid rocket boosters.

Man Boeing just can’t catch a break. 10 years later and they still are struggling to deliver on their 4 billion dollar contract

Once again, the press gets it wrong. The problem with the first launch was the rocket which caused the craft to get into a lower orbit which caused the craft to auto abort heading to ISS for a test it wasn't supposed to perform. Then once again for the second launch, it was the rocket which Boeing doesn't make, but ULA does. Then there was the parachutes. But overall, Boeing actually has a very high success rate with their space launch vehicles seeing as it makes most of the GPS and spy satellites in orbit. But if it's a day of the week, it's time to bash Boeing.

Good decision. Make sure its safe before you send.

It was reported that the door hinges were not set in place correctly.

I remember the image of willie coyote sitting on top of an acme rocket to catch up the road runner

Boeing also has another major problem that nobody seems to be talking about. The Boeing Starliner cost per passenger seat is more than twice as much as the SpaceX Falcon 9 cost per passenger seat! Boeing, you have a lot of catch-up to do if you want to stay in this business!

4.2 billion dollar waste. 84 times what a spacex launch costs.

It was scrubbed due to a new whistle blower.

Is NBC going to fix this misreporting?

Since the launch was scrubbed due to a rocket issue and not the Starliner capsule itself, wouldn’t it make more sense at this point to just have SpaceX ferry the Starliner into space so Boeing can proceed in testing its maneuvering and docking capabilities? In the meantime, the Atlas 5 rocket issues can be looked into.

NASA better double check the hatch door and make sure it’s secured properly.
