How To Correct Single Stage Paint

preview_player
Показать описание
Most modern vehicles have a layer of clear coat paint on top of their finish to protect the color coat from scratches, bonded contaminants, and other damage. Older finishes often have single stage paint, meaning the color coat is the top coat of paint. When polishing scratches and swirls out of single stage paint you want to use the least aggressive or abrasive approach that you can, to preserve as much of your paint as possible and avoid damage.

So glad to hear the advice of doing a panel at a time. I have everything I need to start paint correction but it's so daunting to think about doing the whole car in one go.

Didn't realize ceramic coating could be applied to single stage paint 🤔. That's great info.

Great video. I live in Phoenix. Where can I go to have someone do paint correction on my 1991 single stage paint?

Help !!...I git single stage black paint on my 81z28. I accidently got brake cleaner spattered on to it. It left white marks on my paint. It seemed to have removed the pigment from the paint. Any idea if it can be fixed? Thank

a body shop told me 90s Honda cars had single stage paint from OEM. Is that true or is he B.S. me?

I noticed he used the orange swirl and scratch compound on one video on a car with single stage paint, but hes using the blue compound with this one, Im curious why that is. More than one way to skin a cat?

It does have clear coat. It's mixed in with the base coat. If there was no clear coat then the paint wouldn't be shiny.
