I've been eating 4 or five of these blueberry and regular Thomas bagels a day. They are so good, but let me tell you, I gained about 8 pounds in the last month or so. You will definitely gain weight if you are eating that many and not working out. If you eat one or two a day and you take long walks, you should be fine, but I stopped walking for awhile. I even eat mine plain and I gained alot of weight. So if you eat these babies with butter and cream cheese, you are in real trouble, unless you run about 5 miles a day.

Make a lightly sweetened chia seed jam.  That way you don't need to throw in a whole lot of sugar to thicken it since the chia seeds will do that.  I make mine with mashed up fruit, the juice from the same fruit, chia seeds, and just a little bit of honey to sweeten it but you could leave that out if you want.  I confess I don't know the calorie count but I'm content knowing I get health benefits from the ingredients I use.  Anyway that's what I put on my bagels and other breads.  Also chia seeds can help you stay full longer.  If I eat bagels all I need is bagel thins and a piece of fruit and I'm good to go.  At least until lunch time anyway.

the point of her giving us options is so we can appease the craving but cut the intake of it in half. Just like with any other indulgent type food there are alternatives that can be done. A lot of people benefit from that b/c it keeps their food intake in check w/o going completely overboard b/c they have been depriving themselves of the foods they crave. Plus substituting with whole grain has health benefits that white bread doesn't.

Sesame or everything bagel with cream cheese every mid morning with coffee. I’m so addicted and can’t function if I have to skip it, lol. This has been my breakfast for decades and surprisingly keeps me satiated until dinner time. No snacking in between either (well, sometimes I may have a handful of nuts). I know, it’s bad but that’s like candy to me, which I don’t do among everything else that’s processed.

I eat one whole meal bagle for breakfast everyday with peanut butter and honey. The calories is similar to have two brown round of toast so I don't see why it is equivalent to 5 rounds of toast.
Also I do work out and I feel it fuel Mt body for longer than normal toast.
