Look at you coming through with all the banger recs!! I really need to get to Ashes of the Sun, Bridge Kingdom and Into the Drowning Deep!
Some genreblendy books that I love are Renia by Karl Forshaw, Vevin Song by Jonathan Neves Mayers, Dead Silence by S.A. Barnes, Sorrowland by Rivers Solomon, Hybrid Helix series by JCM Berne, The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen and all of CJ Cooke's books!
Loved this video 🤩

The show Lock & Key was so good so I can’t wait to read the books.

Some of my favourite SciFantasy blends are Red Rising series, Sun Eater series and Broken Empire series!
For fantasy/horror I would definitely recommend checking out The Gutter Prayer, it's so unique and creative!!

I love hybrids, you make me want to read Django Wexler.

One of my favorites is The Library at Mount Char, which smashes together fantasy, horror, mythology, sci fi, and just a dash of romance. Truly a wild ride!

I love books with more than one genre, they're just so cool! And I had no idea Ninth Rain was also sci-fi 🤯

You and Mel have both convinced me to read Ashes of the Sun next month, even though I joined Team Sanctum! 😂☔️

I read the first volume of Locke&Key during Peace Talks last year and I'm hoping to pick up volume 2 this year.
I have the audiobooks for the Bridge Kingdom 'trilogy' so I might read that one too. I have a couple more fantasy romance series I want to start in April as well 😁

I’m making hybrid my whole personality in April. 😂 Love that War Eternals counts! I’d love to try Blake Crouch for this too but the holds are insane.

A great genre blend: Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir. It’s primarily sci-fantasy, but it also has mystery and horror elements as well.

Pretty Stolen Dolls is a hybrid genre - dark romance + thriller + horror elements (but the latter may or may not count because porcelain dolls remind me of horror movies and I'm not sure if that plus some other scenes, creepy creepy scenes could count but maybe...) And I would love to finish the series in April. Oh, it's also an indie book.
I recently(ish) bought Bridge Kingdom and it's a good reminder to read it. Also, I didn't know they were 3 sets of 2 books, so thanks for shedding light on that! I have the first two and if I like them I'll know I could continue. Thank you!☺

Great list! I’m happy to see the Dragonriders of Pern books which are old favorites. I’m thinking of reading Locke and Key and Alibg the Razor’s Edge. For horror/thriller romance I also recommend Psycho by Onley James!

Just adding in my favorite hybrid genre novellas... the novellas in the Monstrous Matches series by Lillian Lark (Ensnared by the Werewolf is only 76 pages) and the companion novella to the Orc Sworn series by Finley Fenn (The Sins of the Orc) both are fantasy romance.
Also, not novellas but sci-fi romance like Winter's Orbit and Oceans Echo by Everina Maxwell read really fast.
The Red Palace by June Hur is historical and thriller/mystery and romance too.

Are we counting historical as a genre for realmathon? I might re-read a fav and I'm unsure where to put it if it's just historical...should we go by subplot? The Lawless Land has a romantic subplot but it's not major. It's more just historical adventure/suspense...

For sci fi/romance hybrids Jessie Mihalik would work or Everina Maxwell (I loved Winter’s Orbit and highly recommend it). Also, I just finished The Immortality Thief and that would definitely count as sci fi/horror.

I joined the fantasy team because that is generally my favorite but you couldn’t tell it from my recommendations so for fantasy/romance A Taste of Gold and Iron, Half a Soul and Swordheart are good. And for fantasy/horror I think I am going to try One Dark Window or The Helm of Midnight.
