I think the worst trends are the overengineered electronics which will fail within a few years, and be very expensive to replace. Oh yea, and piano black trim!

Are we not going to talk about stop-start, fake engine noise, annoying alarms for everything, and things being made electronic that shouldnt be (i.e. the gear shift)?

Thank-you for mentioning the overpowered headlight problem! Your the first person, other than myself, who's said anything about me crazy, especially when I'm confronted by a long line of cars coming at me. It's insane; nearly been in two serious accidents because of it and now I wear my sunglasses at night and I only use my day time running lights.

My personal worst trends of modern cars:
- loading up cars with unnecessary electronic gimmicks that make the car more expensive that most of the time you're probably never gonna use
- fake exhaust pipes, makes the cars look absolutely pathetic. Either have proper ones (like the modern Mazda's) or don't do it at all.
- plastic trim around the wheel arches to make a front wheel drive crossover look more 'rugged'
- Huge grills (like Scotty explained)
- Red trim and lines everywhere, because red accessoires means it's a sports model and thus goes fast (except it doesn't)
- piano black trim, absolutely horrible when the sun is shining brightly and gets dirty super quick

Modern cars just don't cut it for me, I'll stick with my '92 DSM

I strongly agree with plastic headlight covers. I live in Middle East and heat really ruins them fast and they don't clean up that well and even when they do they get foggy very soon.

I can not believe you didn't mention piano black plastics. They're putting them everywhere they can these days. They attract fingerprints, dust, hairs, dirt and pretty much everything in existence to make them look horrible unless you're scrubbing them with a cloth every 5 minutes. Not to mention they do a pretty good job of blinding you if the sun strikes them at the right angle. Hate that trend.
