This song was good for my break up, although it is literally about two people relying on eachother in a relationship. Id like to think of it as, hey thoughts are thoughts. Even if I have memories of the past that upset me. At the end of the day, Im here, Im alive and living in the now, not the past. Cant redo the past, so whats the point of letting it get the best of me.

Context - dad works in the military. He has to go away for 6 weeks starting in 5 hours and I'm sobbing my eyes out, alone, in my room. - this song is like the only thing between me and running downstairs to sobbing on him.

This could be interpretation as support in a relationship, but it could also be a grounding technique between conversing between your self, your child self and now. Especially if you have cptsd, the affirmations that are helpful in context can sound similar to this. The lyric "I'm here..." x3, can be interpreted as in "I'm in the present, I'm not in that bad place anymore" etc, but it just reminded me of that grounding technique.
